Strange Door lock problems.
When locking on the remote the passenger door lock bounces before settling in the lock position. The driver's lever does not move through the actuator can be heard bouncing to match the passenger door. The cable does not seem to be broken as it will let you open the drivers door .
Suggestions and how do you get the driver's door lock out to check? repair ?
Car will not lock the drivers door on remote. Done hard and soft reset and battery is over 12.6

Rev Sam did make a mistake in breaking the vertical link. Just push down the cover and this reveals a joint.
It’s probably the micro switches within the latch unit which is a cheap but tricky replacement. The micro swotch’s lever arm has to be twisted to exactly the right angle

Thanks for that I will look at the video. I have the lock out but it has 4 microswitches ..from what you say its the one with the lever arm on it. PS you move the black sleve upwards on mine to release the link.
You take the lock out the bottom of the door .I seen one guy struggle to get it out the top hole.
What I need now is a video on replacing the micro switch.

Not sure if there's a video, but the thread below, by scardini1 is very comprehensive.

Excellent will have a look..intend to fit the lock "externally" see what it does ..strange thing was while the passenger door handle was making it 5 movements the drivers door handle did not move . We will see.
Having tested unfortunately it was the actuator bit that was faulty but I found a replacement lock unit at £33....anybody want some micro switches (new) I ordered 3 ..

Well not so simple ...originally the passenger door was bouncing while the drivers door did nothing...solenoid faulty .
So I ordered the lock from an XJ8 which has the same solenoid and swopped them. Checked the switch on the slidy bit was being operated and re fitted it all .
The move to P or R works the locks as normal.
Using the remote cause the locks to bounce but they stop in the requested position.
So having had a 4 day marathon on this I put the door card back to await your advice I suspect its not operating the slide switch early enough in the travel... Thoughts?
PS just tried the WD40 trick and it reduced the cycles from 7 to 2. I think the travel of the solenoid without load is sufficient to work the switch but with the load its not . The reduced friction allows more/sufficient travel.
