Talking Thermolater break down...

The other day I was driving home when my thermolater started blinking wildly. I immediately pulled over and checked the turn signal reservoir and the top cover had turned from green to blue, telling me the muffler bearings were on the verge of catashrophic failure. The glovebox air pressure guage indicated that I could make it to the next 7-11/convenience store to by the bearings, so I gave the secondary fillament adjuster a good hard tug and fired her up and headed straight there. On the way, the turn signal switch and wiper switch spun counter clockwise to switch places, telling me I better pick up some bumper bypass switch lubricant as well.

At the store I saw they had a special on valvestem cap LCD screens, so I pick one up and installed that, and replaced the muffler bearings. The thermolater started blinking again on the way home so I tuned the radio to the local cartoon network to make sure the satelite link to my passenger headlight was still operable. It wasn't, so I popped the trunk and shifted the carpet precisely .375 to the left in a clockwise motion as instructed in the manual.

I'm happy to report the link was restored, the thermolater went through an auto-reset cycle and the car is now perfect once again.

God bless the Jaguar design team!!!

A little late for April Fools, but I got a laugh while I was looking for my axle stretcher and my wheel shrinker.

If you change the air in your tires at least twice per year, you'll never need another alignment. It amazes me how many owners never saw this in the manual, right there on page 689....

Cool

A word of caution:-
Jaguar's CAN communications bus can sometimes simultaneously pull the thermolater's line both recessively and dominantly, this has been known to cause the muffler bearings to seize.
Also, although not mentioned in the service schedule, check the ABS preheaters are not excessively loading the windshield-wiper spatial servo.

Hope this helps....

Does anyone have the torque specs for the wobulator shaft fittings under the thermolater bypass valve? Mine have a rattle and must be loose. Either that or the balustrades are split.

Did you remember to switch over to summer air in the tires? This is especially important in Canada or you might have problems with the license plate refibulator. Eh?

Torque specs for the wobulator shaft fitting are 110 to 120 Nano Meters per second/2
In a pinch you can use a left handed Robertson screwdriver with a Ontario twist. (it's the blue one)

From a scientifically diabolical point of view, the relationship between the discombobulator and license plate refibulator has thus far been unexplained.

On the other hand, should the rotating prismatic condenser exceed its wobulations the thermolater will undoubtedly disintegrate.

Simples really
