Default Thought I would share how I ended up with a XK8

I love this car. Been a muscle car guy all my life. Was looking for a convertible.
Z28,trans am , gt mustang. But I really wanted a vette. Did a lot of searching and my wife found our 03 BRG,cashmere,Apollo wheel convertible. I love my wife and she loves this car. If it was a vette I'm not sure she would feel the same.
I got it all, happy wife and happy me. Life is good.

With BRG/Cashmere, how could you (and your wife) not love it.

Cool, I started off looking for something else also. I had been driving a '87 Alfa Spider I'd owned since it was 3 years old. It got totaled when a teen with no license ran a light and hit me. I set out to find another Alfa. The insurance company would only give me $4800 for it. I had no other car and was without a car for 3 months. They only suppled a rental for 8 days. I ended up hiring a lawyer to go after the insurance company and its still not settled yet and the accident was 5/4. I quickly found it would take $8k or more to replace the Alfa with one like it. I wanted a convertible again so I started looking for a cheaper replacement. I started looking at XK8's and ended up with the one I have for $5k plus shipping as there were none within 100's of miles of where I live. I never thought I could get one of these for less than the replacement cost of the Alfa. In some ways I like the Alfa better as its more of a true sports car albeit not the fastest one but still very fun to drive. And cheap to keep running and got 31 mpg. But now I have a new to me toy to get used to and learn how to fix as it breaks. This is really different for me as I am used to driving MUCH older cars and even the Alfa was a "new" car to me. My second car up until 3 years ago was a '52 Rolls Silver Dawn for instance.

Learning how to post pics. Not computer savvy. Believe me I would love to post pic. Thought I could post pics from pics I took without having to transfer them to something like photobucket.

Right, the color combo with the wheels and a convertible. It's awesome. Compliments everywhere we go. Not joking.

You can use Photobucket but you can use the Forum Servers instead.

After typing your Post, click on the Paperclip icon in the upper field. This will open up a Search Box where you can Browse your computer for the .jpg of your car. Then click Upload and a copy will be uploaded to the Forum Server and appear as a Attachment at the end of your Post.
