Default Un-attached cables in battery compartment

I recently had to purchase a new battery for my 2016 XK8. When I took the old battery out, I noticed there were a couple of wires/cables that were not attached. There didn't seem to be anywhere to attach the cables.

I have attached a couple of photos. Photo 1 & 3 shows the black wire/cable pointing down. Photo 1 & 2 shows the other wire/cable (larger connector) close to the white label.

Does anyone know what these wires/cables are for? Should they be connected to something?

Many thanks

Charles

At least one will be for the Transit Isolation Relay (removed at PDI) - keep it tucked where it can't short.

The car has lots of unused things, just leave 'em alone.

+1 with the isolator from shipping. The other one is most likely an auxiliary plug that is cable of powering things like a cooler in the boot, a work light, anything 12 volts. There are some Jaguar accessories it will power. It just needs to be tucked away and ignored.

+1

The Transit Relay is removed and discarded by the Dealer during vehicle PDI.

The connector is then tucked safely out of the way until an inquisitive owner comes along years later and finds it.
