Default upper control arm bushings

I have a 2006 XKR (X100) that needs upper control arm bushings. My local garage says each control arm requires two bushings for a total of 4. They say the bushings are $120 ea. And, the pin that goes through them (2 needed) are $140 ea.

Does anyone know of a supplier that has these parts for less money?

Thanks
Steve

That's a crazy high price! Check power flex https://www.powerflexusa.com/shop/ca...1996-2006-1451

You can get all 4 for the price of 1. Yes its polyurethane, no it doesn't squeak, rougher ride? No

BTW it's a relatively easy job, you can do it without special tools. Some found removing the upper bolt easier than others, that's the tough part if anything is.

OMG, where the hexx is he getting those parts?? That's a hexx of a mark up. Take the car somewhere else or do it yourself.
$20 each from rock auto.com. I just did the entire front suspension on mine and the uppers were the easiest part. TM

Default Rip off prices

Geez! Those are more than Dealer level charge out costs!

Better PU after market parts now available (Powerflex etc) and you just need to clean and polish the existing bolt.

Did it DIY as part of my recent complete suspension R&R albeit with some difficulties.

sknight751,
Yeah that is a total rip-off price. Powerflex poly bushes are $125 on ebay for set of four!

Are you sure you need new pins? They usually clean up pretty good. See mine before and after.

'Nough said right there. Just 'cause it's a Jag doesn't mean the prices have to go through the roof. I'm kinda wishing I bought the Powerflexs but it's done and I will never need to do them again. On to other areas.

Hey Steve...
As everyone has said, and are rightfully shocked, the parts can be had for much much less.

If you need the pin (and that's an if for 2 reasons, one, the mechanic would have a very differcult time knowing the condition of the pin in situ and 2, the hole in the subframe that the pin rides in, aluminum, often will wear before the steel pin) one can be found on a site called British Parts and shipped, which can be given to any mechanic to do the work for you. Supply the parts, pin and bushings, to the mechanic.

Are you interested in doing the install yourself?

If those are 'to supply & fit' prices, then maybe OK. Otherwise, someone is 'avin a larf'.

OEM (Heritage) prices are around $40 for the bush (MJA1462AB) and $48 for the fulcrum bolt (MJA1455AD) which, as others have said, you may not need.

Like others mentioned easy job and much cheaper, I just did this and I got them from Moss motors, rockauto also has them they are around $20 each and its confusing how they word it on their site but you need 4 pieces they are the URO brand so not OE but good enough for a few years
