VVT Seals Interchange with Ford & LR
Just decided to Google a question regarding the VVT seals on our cars and see if they were same size, etc as the Ford VVT seals on their 4.6L engine. Both Ford and Jaguar were developing their engines in a similar time frame. Located an article that indicates they share a common part along with Land Rover for the VVT Seal. The following is excerpt from article I located on google.
The seal is a shared part among many Ford, Lincoln, Jaguar and Land Rover engines. In my video, I use a Jaguar part. I purchased this part on Amazon for around $10, it can be found here: https://amzn.to/2HShucc The seal is sometimes called a Rocker Cover O-Ring. The Amazon parts fitment verification tool will say this part does not fit a Land Rover LR3, you can disregard this warning.
Suggest we verify this info and maybe reduce costs of our replacements. This just seemed logical since Ford owned Jaguar and LR at that time. No reason to duplicate similar function parts on similar engine designs. The 4.6L engine debuted in the 1996 Mustang,3.9L in Lincoln and 4.0L in the XK8. Please review this info and advise if you find contrary info.
