Default What Is This Component?

Hello Forum Members. I have attached two images of a component that is located in the right forward fender area of my 2004 XKR. It is just aft of and below the headlight assembly. What is this component? I need to move it to repair a leak in the headlamp washer plumbing. Any problems in just removing and replacing it?

Thanks!

It certainly does. I often wondered where that was.

Going through all the photos of changing upper wishbone bushes on my 2001 and 2005 XK8's, this is the only one I have looking forwards:

Sure enough, there's the security sounder on a 2001.

Thanks to Graham and Bob for the information.

The component is indeed the security sounder

After removing the component I was able to gain access to the plumbing leak at the headlamp washer clip.

Thanks again for the help!

As I recently learned the internal battery dissolves in this little bugger and and blows the fuse, which also powers the center console switch pack (fog lights, heated seats & traction control) and and heater pump. So I have left mine unplugged as the alarm still sounds the horn.
