Where can I find replacement screens/digitizers that fix the sat nav
Hey, I own a Jaguar xk8 2001 that Ive been restoring.
I came across another issue and that being a previous owner damaged the screen, making it hard to see and read. System works perfect but screen itself needs replacement.
Does anyone know where I can buy a screen that I can use to swap the old one out so I don't have to buy a whole new sat nav?
I'm reasonably sure that the old X100 nav system is totally obsolete now. It is so slow and the maps are so out of date that I always thought that everyone had given up trying to use it by now.
I think that the only source for a replacement screen will be a breakers yard, or similar.
I don't necessarily want to use it but I want it for the aesthetic and as part of the full restoration to say everything works as intended. The only function I would use is the analog clock after updating the system.
P.s it's nice to have a map even if it's slow in case of emergencies, like a dead phone :P
But most breaker yards/junk yards want 300$ just for a sat nav that isn't a main component in the car one would use. Which is why I rather take the screen fixing route as I've replaced countless electronic screens, I just need the right part number and or source to buy a screen
Remove the screen and disassemble down to the bare bones if you can. Measure dimensions and note any identifying numbers and do an online search. I have found many seemingly obscure parts are out there, just need to find them.
Over the years I do remember that many have replaced the unit with the gauge system.
Good chance someone has that on nav system setting on a shelf, so you are in the right place.

i know the folks that put in the 3 gauge system with the real gauge modification just didn’t throe Away their NAV screen.
so help this guy out..
BTW, I am still using my original SAT NAV system. It’s an anachronism for sure, but so are the cars. That just makes them more enjoyable to me.
reach out to forum member @Throwback - he had a listing for complete radio and sat nav in the market place. I got the radio but believe the satnav is still available. If his is no longer available, there are a few others with ads in the forum market place that may be able to assist
