@blindside just out of curiosity, how much power does your car make? I just saw your signature and was super intrigued. Must be tons of fun.

 

It came in at 390hp and 443fp torque at the rear wheels... with an 18% factor, the estimate at the crank is 475hp and 540fp torque. It runs great and is just what I wanted... it's PERFECT!

 

You can get a lot more power out of that engine. Those are baby power levels. You gotta get those numbers up.

I'm surprised that I haven't read of an LS swapped X100 making power north of 600 or even 700 at the crank. Those engines can surely produce that power easily and reliably.

Initially crossed my mind that someone was being pranked (forum with no identity checking, encouraging people to read his document using the 'compelling' accusation that everyone participating here was lazy, and then 'You so smart...', "Even the real dinosaurs...', 'If my aunt had *****...' etc). Still a possibility.

Stayed because Bob's response was genius. Laughed for a couple of minutes.

 

Sorry to see this get out of hand. This is the reality of internet and social media. Some things said in jest are taken seriously. Some things that are facts are called big lies. Some things that are interesting are called fake news. Sometimes the minority can try to stop the steal. So Gary Van Re Mortal is mortal and gets impeached. When computers depersonalize human interaction it makes the unimaginable happen.

One of these days... since this was my initial foray into the LS-swap world I figured I would take it easy (esp. on the pocketbook)... the transmission I bought was only rated at 500HP so I wanted to stay right around there... first I want to get a limited slip differential and then work on increasing the power in the future.

 

John and Gary are two Jaguar enthusiasts separated only by a common language.

Glad to hear that John (from to the garage) is not the same person. I like him and enjoy watching his videos... Would be cool to meet him someday. This other guy very toxic... I ready stickies and search but sometimes if I'm doubtful I'll ask for advice or thoughts on something. It never hurts to ask and get other opinions.

 

It’s too bad membership in the human race doesn’t automatically come with a thick skin. That would save a lot of useless bickering.

personally, a person is going to have to get up right in my face for me to get boiling. Anything and everything said over a computer screen doesn’t come close to registering as offensive. Life is too short for that.
