Default window issue when raising top

My 05 wont raise the windows if they're down with the top down when using either the door key lock or console switch to raise the roof. Once the top latches and the completed chime dings, I have to use the window switches to raise both. Problem in the drivers door latch? Any help is appreciated. I've reset both glasses by holding both switches up for a few seconds thinking that might restore operation but no luck.

You need to reset the windows by also holding both switches down for a few seconds with windows down, not just up.

Mine is the same, with windows down if I use the console roof switch to raise the top the front windows remain down, have not tried it with the door key switch but will check today and report back.

I do have Steve's, white XKR, remote installed. When using the remote to raise the top the Windows also raise.

+1. With the door switch they should raise if the windows are properly reset. This is not necessarily with the interior top switch.

When resetting the windows you must be in the car with the door closed. See if this helps.

I've reset the window switches as instructed. So, if I understand correctly, they should always close when using the key to secure the car and must be raised with their switches when using the console switch to raise the top.

I can't speak of the door key issue you're having but, I can say this... If the top is closed and all the windows are up and you press the top down switch, the front windows (not the quarter windows) go back up once the top is fully down. When the top is down and the front windows are fully up, the front windows will only go down an inch during the top up function and will go back up once the top is fully closed.

I believe the logic behind this is if you started the top opening sequence and the windows were fully open, then surely you wanted the windows open once the top was fully open and vicea versa when you go to close.

I hope this makes sence and helps.

Grantorino, the door windows must be raised using the door switch. They never automatically raise while using the console roof switch to open or close the roof.

Mine do auto raise if I an standing outside the car and use the key IF THE WINDOW TRAVEL LIMIT HAS BEEN PROGRAMED since the last battery disconnect.

If window travel limit is unprogrammed, the key in the drivers door will raise the roof and I think the rear windows but will not raise door windows.

Thank you! By programmed, you mean holding the window switch first down then up till a click is heard, correct?

Well.... it's fixed! Tonight I drove home with top and windows down. Once home I reached over and reset the passenger window up then down till I heard a click. Then I raised the top with the console switch (car running) Both windows down. Top raised, latched then both door glasses raised! Up until this time I had "reset" the window switches from the driver switches only. Apparently you must reset both switches from each door. Thanks for the help. It was simply a matter of resetting each switch. Why they became un programmed remains a mystery which I'll not ponder further!

A low battery voltage will do that.

+1. If it happens again, your battery is either discharged or defective.
