window lowering with door handle but does not return when closed...can we correct it

Okay, I have a variation on this problem. When I open the passenger door, the window
goes down and then immediately goes back up! It doesn't wait for the door to be closed.
So I'm concerned it's not sealing as well as it should. Can I correct this? I've tried
re=programming the window several times. Thanks for any input!
