where to ad transmission fluid on a xk8 1997

To answer your question: You need to perform the transmission fluid check procedure and add fluid through the fluid level port on the side of the transmission. See attached procedure.

To check fluid level you remove the plug, then reinstall loosely. With the vehicle raised you run the engine at idle and shift through the gear sequence and allow the fluid to warm up. Then remove the plug and add fluid until it overflows then when the overflow is a trickle replace the plug. The only thig left is to clean up the mess you have made. It is a messy procedure.
