There have been numberous discussions about installing a switch, either in the center console or in the blank hole in the lower dash. Like most, I had never noticed that there is a blank on the other side of the steering wheel to match the temperature sensing device. The switch splices into the wires connecting to the motor in the trunk.

This article was written by a fellow xk8 owner. Just have to find the switch on the internet (not too difficult) and you can have it rigged up in no time. It fits perfectly.

Matt,

Your link doesn't work. I know I read the thread but couldn't quickly find it this morning.

The new car shifts beautifully!

I had the issue with antenna noise. I put a switch on the console just behind the ashtray.
The wire controlling the antenna passes through the console. (IC2-14) it is Green with Black tracer. Farthest connector back, on the drivers side. There was enough slack in the cable, that I could cut the wire and splice in the switch without disconnecting the cable.

doug, awhile back I tried this , and you have to be a registered member to get the pdf download. I just saved a copy on my hard drive. Montauke, PMs aren't working right now, send me an email matt (dot) hopper [at] att (dot) net and i'll get it to you.

i've got an extra switch too if you can't find one on the internet. blue LED i believe.
