XK8 Headlight Lens needed
They regularly come up on eBay, but usually you will have to buy the complete assembly just to get the glass lens.
affordable ? I don’t recall ever seeing any bargains. The price of these type of parts is on a steady path upward.
you will have plenty of competition. Many here, including me, are on the lookout for a well priced lens or assembly. Nice to have a spare on the parts shelf. Just for the day a flying rock takes out the existing lens.

Somebody please correct me if I'm wrong. AFAIK the gasket between lens and housing is not sold separately.

Different vehicle, but I used clear RTV to re-attach the glass to the lamp body on my son's MKII Golf. Still holding 10 years later.
During my headlamp rebuild I used Butyl Headlamp Sealant from Diode Dynamics. Follow the heat / fitting instructions and this works really well and costs $15. 1 pack is more than enough for both headlamps.
hmmmm.....no idea, the Amazon customer reviews are 87% 5 star.
You do need to heat this stuff to 250F in the oven before clamping the lens to the lamp body. You may also need to heat the butyl strip to make it soft enough to work when installing into the lamp body groove, but it works really well and is completely waterproof (pressure hose tested) if installed correctly. Maybe this process is too much for some folks.
I also drilled a vent hole in the lamp body and put silicon drier packs in a laundry bag to completely eliminate any condensation. I had some pre-existing reflector water leakage / condensation damage to one of my lamps, I used Culture Hustle's MIRROR - the world’s mirroriest mirror chrome paint to remediate this. The inevitable headlamp mount repairs were also needed but they were easy enough.
Clamping the XK8 lens to the lamp body can be a little challenging, I made up a few rubber backed wooden blocks cut to fit the lens angle and provide a straight clamping face - I used cheap Harbor Freight ratcheting bar clamps.
