My 03 xk8 pass window when it goes up is kinda going straight up, leaving a gap between it and the back window. I thought I read here (can't find thread) that you can adjust that some with out taking door panel off. The PO put new window switches on the car before I got it. I am hoping he just messed up an adjustment somewhere.
I can make it seal fine if I move the glass a little right to left.

Brgjag,
Not sure if this is your issue, but there is a thread about the glass angle that discusses the adjustment points:

It mentions adjustment without removing the door card.

Here's the relevant section on door window glass adjustment from JTIS:

mine sorta does what that video shows, just does not stick out as much at all but has the same gap between the window and the rubber on the back quarter window.

I re-read your initial post and I had the same 1/4" or so gap between the back window glass and the door glass on the passenger side of my car. I noticed it once after raising the top, the back glass on the passenger side did not seem to come up enough at the end of the cycle when it 'rolls or tilts' forward to meet the door glass.
I got out of the car and pulled the window up and forward at the same time and closed the gap, and tried to lightly push the glass back the other direction. There did appear to be 'play' of ~1/8" to a 1/4" gap when I did this, so I pulled it forward and up again to where it should be when closed, and checked it on the next cycle. The next time I cycled the top, the back window closed normally without the gap, and I checked for the 'play' I had previously encountered and it was all but gone. I did not want to force it by any means, but I felt enough resistance that I was satisfied that if there was a problem with alignment, on the prior cycling of the top, that it was gone now.
This does not mean that an alignment bracket has not slackened up some, and the original problem in the back window may present again at some point, but it is something I can wait to re-tighten if that is the case. I do know that before this occurred, on the cycle where the window did not come all the way up, my finger had slipped off of the roof switch about 3/4's of the way through, and interrupted the back window closing process.

my back window does the same thing, but I can adjust it EVERY top down and up cycle. I don't have too but get a better seal from door window once I move it into place also. The door glass is like it is not (looking at it from inside the car) moving up and to the right when you put it up.
well I watched the video then went and looked at my car. I DO have a slight window tilt out from the car, making it show the gap. I alos noted from the video that both windows are not going all the way up like the dude in the video showed. Both of mine are coming up about 1/4 inch short of all the way up, which explains the drips during a steady rain.
Is the dude that has done so many of these video's on this site???
I will have to work on this when I get home from a 350 mile run each way to TN this weekend. This will be our first LONG trip in her.
I have not looked but is there a video on how to take the door panels off.
