I've got a chance to get a set of BBS Detroit wheels with 285/30 ZR 20 99Y Pirelli P Zero Asimmetricos for a really good price. I'm going to see them tomorrow but the seller says all four tires are the same size not staggared like on a stock XKR. I'd like to know if a 285 tire will really fit the front of an otherwise stock XK without any rubbing or interference issues and if the stock steering box is strong enough to handle such a wide front tire?

I'd also like to know if there is a different backspacing between the front and rears on these wheels or any other way that I can tell if I'm really getting a two fronts and two rears, not just a set of 4 rear wheels.

 

you should be able to check the inside wheel well and look for a raised stamp - "bolt pattern x 8.0" and rear should be "bolt pattern x 9.0". <- these are on my 19" wheels IIRC, hopefully your Detroits will have the same data.

It turned out the seller didn't really know what he had. The wheels and tires were the correct stock sizes, in great shape and legit so now the XK has a new look!
