hiii Yesterday driving back home in normal city traffic around 60 km/h suddenly got smoke all around and behind the car . I stopped the car . The engine was still running normally and not heating . Opened the bonnet . Oil was everywhere dripping . I started the engine and it was a real oil fountain coming out .I checked the dipstick ; no oil anymore . So all the oil was gone in one or two minutes . Before i didn't have any even small oil leakage I brought the car home Checked a little but can't find any oil hose that is broken . I suppose it must be a big leak somewhere as i lost all the oil so fast . Not easy to see in the front of the engine before dismantling .
Does anybody have a idea what could have broken . Any body else has had the same problem ?

Check the oil cooler in front of the radiator, it hangs low and you might have snagged a line on something.

 

Jaguar makes a revised hose that a lot stronger than the original
Removal of the lower cover is usually held on by screws or plastic rivets.

The process is not too hard to me, just put your car up or jack stands and get er done, don't forget to add oil lol

Replace all hoses that are leaking, unless you find something else

Or remove your old lines,take to a hydraulic hose company or ship it off, let them make a much more improved design over jaguar for a cheaper price !!!


Be sure to insect the hoses that the return and feed line go to as well

Mine showed minor stress cracks, I put 5/8'' hose clamps on the ends with a piece of silicone hose, so if they rupture before I get to them, it will only leak and not ruin my engine until I'm ready to replace them soon.

Are the two line the only possible reason ? As from what i can see they seems not damaged ( didn't remove them until now ) Can a failure oil pump leak that much ? or another part ?

 

That diagram is of the power steering oil cooler.

The engine oil cooler is the small frontmost rectangular radiator and has 4 possible hoses to split.

Thanks whitexkr Will dismantle the two lines and inspect them . We have a lot of hydraulic workshops here who can make me new lines as we dont have an easy access to Jag spare parts here

 

Thanks all of you . A local hydraulic workshop replaced all the 4 hoses on the oil cooler pipes . I fixed them on the car . No laeks . All is running fine again Thanks

When spring is here, all 4 of mine are coming off next.

A local company by me uses silicone hosing for commercial trucks and says the lines they make, out last the vehicles. I'm down for that.

They even said they can mock me up some silicone valley hoses that will never good bad as well. 1 million mile warranty.

 

They even told me, they do fuel lines and brake lines.

 

what diagram are you talking about? This just happened to me yesterday. Wondering if you knew where I could find or were willing to provide a list of all components needed to fix the problem, and possibly a summary of what steps need to be takin to complete said task

 

I believe I know what to do in order to remove the feed and return hoses, but have seen a lot of different information regarding how to reattach these hoses and was wondering what you thought the best way would be

 

Make sure your oil filter didn't have two O-Rings on it. Not likely but possible.

 

when removing the engine side oil cooler hoses it helps to have a small telescoping mirror to see and manipulate the attachment bolt. Other than that the job is straightforward.

it bears repeating that these hoses will fail. Don’t rely on just an o-ring replacement.

Even if only one hose is leaking, replace them all.
