Heated Rear Seat Help Please.
Hello Chaps,
I in the process of installing an interior from a different XJ8 into my own XJ8 and need some help.
The new interior is from a Daimler/VDP spec car and has the heated rear seat option. I would like to get this working, but an unsure of how it's all connected etc. I have the switch pack for this too, so just need to know where to plug in so to speak.
Thanks Fellas,
Stu.

Hi Stu
You may have to get a rear heater wiring harness that has the multiplug and goes back to the trunk fuse box, if the wiring harness does not exist in your XJ8.
Correction: The rear seat heater fuse is located in the Rear Compartment Fuse Box - Right-hand Heelboard Fuse number 9 with 20 amp fuse not trunk fuse box - number 22, it is a 20 amp fuse.
Here is a PDF file for the Rear Seat Heater Switch R&I:
2001 XJ Rear Console Extension Heater Switches.pdf
Here is a PDF file of the 2001 XJ Electrical Guide:
jzj2001en.pdf
Look at page 25 - Harness wiring diagram - It does not show a separate harness for the rear seat heaters. The rear seat harness may already include the multi-plugs needed for the rear seat heaters.
I also created a PDF file from the JEPC of the rear seats wiring harnesses that are listed:
2001 XJ Rear Seat Harnesses Part Numbers.pdf
Shows part numbers for Harnesses with electric moving rear seats and without electric moving rear seats.

Hi Stu
I do not have any photos, but here is another PDF:
This one shows an illustrations of the rear cushion heater multiplug harness.
XJ8 Rear Seat Track R&I.pdf
Here is another thread that has photos taken by forum member shw57: Removal-Repair of the Rear Seat Heater Switch
https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/a...ch-removal-pdf
Maybe you can PM him and ask for a photo of the multiplug harness that makes the connection with the rear seat heaters.

Thanks For Your help so far Jim, you're most kind I've been out this evening working on my interior and have been seeing if I can find where it all goes. If I need to make my own harness for this I can do as I have a donor car I can swipe some connectors from and make a loom.
I PM'd shw57 so hopefully we'll hear back soon.

Hi Stu
I just looked the rear heated seat fuse location in our 2001 XJ8 Vehicle Care Handbook. On page 4-18 Roadside emergency service: the fuse location table shows:
The rear seat heater fuse is located in the Rear Compartment Fuse Box - Right-hand Heelboard Fuse number 9 with 20 amp fuse.
Maybe I used the wrong wiring diagram when I found it on the trunk fuse box diagram.
I corrected post number 2.
It can also be found in the 2000 XJ Vehicle Care Handbook PDF file - same page number 4-18:

Hi Jim, Thanks for your reply about the changes. I have noted everything down but will probably leave this Mod for a couple of months due to time constraints and not having a full picture if you get me. I'm going to try and get a look at an already installed system to give me a better idea of what needs doing.
Thanks Again,
Stu.
