Cannot Release Parkbrake !
I brought my car in for transmission pan/silver service at a non-Jaguar but AAA recommended repair shop. After they finished, the car was idling , the slightly revving, then it would stall/ The shop said they didn't disconnect the battery but I know they did because they had to install a new round sleeve around the electrical sleeve/notch related to the transmission. I did the hard reset by disconnecting the battery (negative cable)and then later since that didn't work (disconnected both negative and positive and connectedboth each other to drain any energy running to the ECU to clear/reset it). These things didn't solve the idling problem but now it added another problem: it says CANNOT APPLY PARKBRAKE, and I can not even move the car to have it towed to the Jaguar dealership because the Parkbrake is engaged and won't release. Is there a manual release for the parkbrake? Or will the tow truck be able to tow the car or will the tow truck driver know where to manually release the parkbrake so he can tow the car? If anyone could provide some feedback, it would really help. Thank you so much.

To manually release the EPB you can....................
Cut the cable that runs between the calipers. (one time fix that requires new EPB winch assy)
Manually apply 12V power to the motor in the correct polarity. One way will tighten and the other will loosen the winch cable. The power plug on the EPB module in the boot is the easiest place to gain access to the wiring. It is dangerous if you don't apply the power to the correct terminals. You might 'fry' something??
I remember that we had a special tool (wiring cable with a switch) to release the EPB when I worked at the Jag dealer but I don't remember what the tool number is.

I think you will find that cutting the cable is part of one of Jaguar's "solutions" to this problem, and if the motor has fried it may be the only solution.
But first try to run the motor as Bob mentioned. See QuikCat's post at this thread:

With a grumpy wife, a filthy back, ruined clothes, and $200 part you need to order. Now that I think about it...that's likely why your wife is always grumpy!
I know from doing it both ways that I'll be at the bar long before you, with clean clothes, clean hands, and a happy wife.
You can hack your car to pieces for all I care...it's just not much of a recommendation. Instead of a $.25 fuse (likely the problem), you have to replace an expensive cable that has to be ordered. The OP already stated he's just trying to get the car to the shop. Any tow truck operator can tow with a locked axle. Most insurance covers the tow. It's a win-win.

Hi Everyone. Thank you for your suggestions and replies. They are very much appreciated. Anyways, I was able to fix the problem with a simple fix. Since I was originally having problems with the idling when the battery was originally disconnected, below is what I did:
1) Disconnect battery and leave it disconnected overnight which I believe cleared residual memory that is causing the error.
2) In the morning, I changed ALL the fuses related to the ECM, ignition and EPB.
3) Turned the ignition on. ALL issues were fixed!
4) you don't even need to do anything else like stepping on accelator nor brakes nor EPB nor putting the key in the ignition.
5) I am sooo glad and relieved I didn't have to have it towed to the dealer nor having to spend a single dollar which I am sure could have turned into $5000-$10,000 if the Jaguar dealership would claim I fried the ECM module, EPB modules, etc. It's so not fair. I don't know how people can live ripping people off their hard earned money.
