2003 XJR HELP! spare RIM & TIRE
And just when I thought I was doing so well.
All right, you can laugh at me or cry with me, all of the above it's fine.
My spare tire had dry rotted.
I asked my mechanic where to go to get a new tire.
He said no worries I have a brand new spare tire on the rim and you can have the rim and tire for free.
His helper took my rim and tire and threw it in the dumpster.
I placed my new rim and tire into my trunk and off I went.
I had a flat last night and I wasn't upset because I had a new rim and tire in my trunk.
The only problem is, that came off of an XJ.
That rim and tire set does not fit an XJR.
I just got off the phone with Annapolis Jaguar and they said they have discontinued making that rim and tire set.
I have scoured the internet for a rim and tire.
I have not been able to find one for an XJR 2003.
it has to be for a 2003 XJR.
A XJ will not fit. The lug pattern it's smaller.
Do any of you guys have one or know of one?
But it has to be for an XJR.
Thanks in advance

The lug pattern is the same for all sedans (X308).
The BRAKES are larger for the XJR and the XJ8 wheel will NOT fit over the brakes.
If you have the X350 (built in 2003) then the bolt pattern is indeed different. (it is a FORD metric size)
Are your wheels ASTEROIDS?
You can find a used one and then have a full sized spare. The place in the boot might not fit as well as the 'space-saver'.

BBS wheels
1998 to 2003 XJ space saver spare should work on my XJR.
My mechanic is putting out feelers.
And I'm going to contact several local junk yards.

Col. Sandurz - I am going through a similar situation as XJRfan. The OEM Pirelli compact spare for my 2002 XJR is shot. I am considering upgrading to a full size and saw that, as of late October last year, you had a handful of Asteroids around (which is what is on my car). I won't be able to PM you for a while (as a brand-new member), but would like to follow up with you about an Asteroid when I am able (or if you are able to reach me before I qualify as a proper member).
