Burson Auto Parts
Hi, are any of you southerners familiar with Burson Auto Parts? Until today I had never heard of them, I was in a local industrial estate and came across a store at the very end of a driveway with no signage seen from the road. I was there to buy a pair of work boots from one of the units in the complex.
From a quick look in the shop front they seem to sell a lot of their own branded consumables like oils and cleaning products, and looking beyond the counter into the warehousing area they have quite sizeable range of parts in stock.
After a quick search tonight I see 4 or 5 shops around Brisbane, and lots listed in Victoria. They must be fairly new in Qld at least as 3 of their shops are in locations I frequent and I don't miss auto parts shops, just ask my wife.
What brands do they sell etc,or are they mainly selling their own brands? Are they a newcomer in the parts game?
Some info would be appreciated as this shop is about 3 minutes from my place.

Bursons have been a long time player down south. They sell a wide range, and I don't ever recall actually buying an own brand product there.
They are my preferred shop in Melbourne. The people seem to me more knowledgeable and the prices OK. I usually only go elsewhere if a sale gets my attention.

Thanks. When I first walked in the there seemed to be shelves to both sides of the isle full of Burson branded 4 ltr packs and 1 ltr and spray packs which I assume are oil and cleaning products,I never took time to read the labels.
I have been a 26 year user of the same Repco branch with the same guy over the counter, and a local indy parts store run side by side with a friends exhaust & mechanical shop(his wife runs the parts side). And Supercheap Auto for consumables such as lubricants and cleaners.
I will give them a go on a couple of parts for the Jeep next week(water pump and serpentine) and see how the service and pricing stacks up. RACQ members get 10% off all Repco purchases in Qld.

The latter I think. They got bought out by a private equity group 2 or 3 years ago , and they have just done an IPO to get some of their money back. I guess pitching it as a national or just bigger chain makes it more attractive.

Thought I would give them a go. Went to get a water pump for a Jeep today, they have it in stock $135. I can get the same brand from Jeeep spares in Hervey Bay delivered for $79, or from Ringwood Auto Parts $60 with free delivery. Or a repco one for $95
For conveniance, they do have it on the shelf. Repco will have it next day, and the other two would be a couple of days at most.
I'm too attached to my cash to part with an extra 30-64% when I have 3 other vehicles to use. If I only had the one car I may not have that choice, and from speaking to the guy over the counter they are mainly supplying local mechanics shops in direct competition with Repco. So in the end it is the mechanics customer who is paying and they will pay what it takes to get their car back same day.

Bursons is in NSW as well, there's one about a 10 minute drive from my place.
But I also have a Supercheap and a Repco (right next door to each other, really!) about 3 minutes from my house.
There's an Autobahn not too far away either.
Frankly I find them all hopeless...i've often been to all four joints, returned home, and then ordered it online. Either because nobody has it in stock, or because the prices are beyond paying for the convenience...

I have always found Supercheap not so good for parts, except filters and brake pads. Mainly good for consumables. Autobarn I never used except for one switch(nearest is 20km from me).
Repco for anything I need now. If you go there in the morning, they usually have it in the same day.
I buy most online for price .
