For the first 3 years. I loved my car
for the last 5 months the car has been nothing but problems and is literally a disaster
engine oil leaks
failed def fluid nozzle leasing to new scr
as of yesterday. No power and black smoke coming out of the exhaust
which i am now told
failed pcv valve seized turbo no oil getting to it
replace intercooler
this latest batch is over 4000 in repairs
the scr repairs was over 5000 in repairs
i did purchase the extended warranty to 160000km
purchased from the dealer when i bought my brand new car. Not knowing it was 3rd party
everything is a battle with them
all sensors are excluded
all exhaust system is excluded
and now they want to deny coverage for the turbo and intercooler because they want to blame everything on the pcv which is not covered
of course. They don’t cover dealer rate nor diagnostic and they have a deductible
and you pay for repairs first and them submit to them and hope they will cover
I know this is not comforting to you, but I am on my 3rd CPO Jag, and the first 2 were sold/traded a month before the CPO warranty expired. The 3rd one will also go when its time is up.
Sorry about what happened to your F-Pace. Owning a car with Turbo engine on it is far different to operate than a non-Turbo engine vehicles.
Here's why, and to all of you Jaguar owners that have Turbocharged engines on your vehicles, please watch this video.
I came here for the same update. 2017 f-pace diesel, 52,000 miles, and a blown turbo. Fortunately I was almost home and pulled into my driveway and shut off the car with a very small amount of oil remaining. However after having it towed, the service writer called and told me he drove it around a bit and it "seemed okay" which is a bizarre thing to say when there's no power... So now I'm stressed about engine wear after running with no oil and the long-term impacts on engine viability. We have an extended warranty, and my husband (former mechanic) is going to double check that it engine/ chassis, exhaust.
Does anyone with much higher mileage have feedback on longevity? Anyone have experience with blown turbos and long-term impacts? We're trying to decide if we want to sell or keep. I had my heart set on keeping this car for 10 years and hate to start over since diesels are so much harder to get in SUVs now.

of the turbo blew and leaked oil into the intercooler
you will need
new turbo
new intercooler
The entire exhaust system will need to be cleaned out
as any burned oil in the exhaust system will trigger the emissions sensors
also. The oil will clog the def spray nozzle which will need to be cleaned. Possibly repeatedly
none of this is good
cost me $4700 and repeated trips to the dealer
plus on the last cleaning. The dealer noted
“possible exhaust damage - customer to monitor”
well most of the exhaust was already replaced a couple of months prior including the def spray nozzle
cost over $5000 total
i wasn’t going through this again
sold my Jaguar. Never again Copy of invoice
the 'on boy needs shovel, what he is saying is not wrong - but it is more relevant if you drive an 80s car, he contradicts himself, loves his buzz words/terminology thats where he trips up a bit - in my opinion of course, he just aint using them right.
edit - back to main issues service your car regular - not these long service jobs for companies, and you will be grand.
I did double the amount of maintenance schedule oil changes and always at the dealer
didn’t help with the landslide of problems that occurred this last year
