Default ¼ mile – 12.114 @ 117.18mph (2015 V8 S)

I did a coupe quick runs at the strip. Weather conditions were good, but I’m underwhelmed with the times. I’m sure I could improve with some additional practice but I guess I expected more out of a supercharged 5.0 liter engine. At least more than my lightly modded 3.0 liter BMW.

Michelin 4S tires and a 1.87s 60 foot.

A naturally aspirated 2015 Mustang GT with an intake manifold, exhaust and E85 was running similar times on the same day.

Time to call VAP or Eurotoys…

Well, you literally can pick up 100 rear wheel horsepower with a plug in tune and nothing else. So you should start there...

A "lightly" modded 3.0L BMW can make 500whp as i'm sure you're aware. So probably not a fair statement.

A "lightly" modded 5.0L V8S went 11.02 on this forum in the past.

12.1 @ 117 is about right for a stock V8S

Seems not bad too me, if you put a stick tyre on the back and cut a 1.6-1.7s 60ft you'd be around 11.8s which is about where stock V8S run, RWD and getting off the line is your issue, its all in the 60FT.

For comparison I have an SVR it cuts around 1.75s 60FT and PB so far is 11.3080@125.49mph, car is stock apart from RS30 lipo battery and 2PC brakes (same weight saving as ceramics). I reckon I can pull that down to an 11.2 run which for a stock car is not bad, but its an SVR so its got nearly 600HP.

Get the map and pulley done, you should then cross line around 125mph, your ET should go faster but of course you need to hook it up which will only be more difficult with another 100HP plus.

While there have been faster V8S runs, that doesn't seem too bad to me......if it isn't enough 605 hp is $1000 and a phone call away....

Cheers,
Dave

Thanks for the responses.

I guess I needed to adjust my expectations and get a tune.

The car was fun, but I sold it. I did stay with Jag though.

Now that's more like it. Good work.
Looks like you go to the same drag strip I do. I drove by last night and there was a bit of a line to get in so I passed. Now I wish I would have went.
