Default 2016 F-Type H/L and infotainment electrical flickering

Hello all, I pulled my F-Type out of winter storage a month ago and I have had my infotainment center and headlights flicker multiple times while driving. The infotainment flicker is enough to turn off my radar detector momentarily. During winter storage I had it hooked up to a CTEK. I don't ever have a problem starting it, nor have I had any warnings pop on my dash. I keep it on the CTEK when not driving it and the charger always tells me the battery is fully charged after an hour or so. I have disconnected the battery terminals for 30-45 seconds and that has not resolved anything. Apologies if this has been answered on a previous thread...I looked everywhere and could not find it.

Are there any rodents in the area where the car was stored? It wouldn't be uncommon to have a rodent get into the engine bay area and chew on some wiring over the winter.

Hello, thanks for the response. It was stored in a temperature controlled car hanger alongside another F-Type and a Z06. Anything is certainly possible, but my friend has never experienced that. I agree that it definitely could be a possibility.

I recently encountered the same problem as you. I want to know if you solved it?

First thing id check is the ground cable in the trunk. Make sure it is tightened well

My front grounding cable was corroded (in front underside somewhere) and caused flickering of various systems and odd behavior (on, off). Mine was not stored at the time but grounding could be a the source as noted above. Battery replacement may be in order even if ctek charging. May want to have health check on battery regardless of ctek.

This is not in response directly to F-Type Mike and the post is older, but just wanted to share a recent story related to his comment.

For those not familiar with carbon fiber cockpits, the bolts that hold the structures together don't seize into CF like they do metal. As such, there are service intervals where the body panels come off and all of the chassis bolts/fasteners are tightened. This is in relation to my 4C (and McLarens are no different). My 4C is stored during winters at a temperature controlled storage facility along with my race car trailer. The F-Type is home in my garage . Space Saver lift coming soon. This year, I did the bolt tightening service on my 4C and the mechanics found rodent nests in the front and rear of my 4C. Luckily, there was nothing chewed on, just crap that needed to get cleaned up. However, even with a proposed 'clean' storage facility, rodents can still be an issue. This winter, one or two mothballs are going with the car.

Just food for thought.

Don't rely on mothballs. This seems to be a myth along with dryer sheets, peppermint, etc. I would suggest traps. It's the only way you can be be 100% effective. Bait is an option too, however, you don't want them eating it and dying somewhere you don't want them to.

Not allowed to set traps in someone else's facility.

Also, traps/bait are meant to attract mice. May not matter if they’re already there, but I wouldn’t put them in the car envelope I use to store the car - don’t want to prompt them to chew through the bag.

I've had a lot of success with glue traps. Stick them in paths of travel and they absolutely are not getting off of it. Doesn't use any attractant that I'm aware of. The downside is it isn't selective. I've also caught numerous spiders and even 2 small snakes.
I had an issue in our shop a couple years ago so I'm super paranoid now about nesting mice.
