So Dionysus, another question for your opinion. What are your thoughts on deleting the symposer, and specifically on the V8. I bought the kit which includes the block off plate (with o-ring seal) that goes on the supercharger, a small rubber cap that goes on a vacum line to cap it (that went to the symposer), and I just kept the electrical connector plugged in along with it's bracket that mounts to the back of the supercharger. So I believe I did that all correctly. Any chance that could be causing my issue??

Ok so one more question as I've found conflicting and confusing info on various searches and threads. How are the cylinders numbered on the v8? Does anyone have a good diagram on that so that I can try to pinpoint specific cylinders if they throw codes.

Ducati, the good news is that there’s no fuse box in the glove compartment. There’s one under the carpet towards to front of the passenger footwell, which may be the one you’re looking for. The drawings in some of the Jag docs are very unclear.

And there’s one in the A-pillar, and a couple under the hood, and one in the trunk.

There are 5 separate fuse boxes fitted to the vehicle, each one containing fuses protecting a different group of circuits.
  1. Left side engine compartment fuse box.
    1. Remove the left side under hood cover. See UNDER-HOOD COVERS REMOVAL.
    2. Press the clip to release the fuse box cover.
  2. Right side engine compartment fuse box.
    1. Open the side cover and press the 2 clips to release the fuse box cover.
  3. Passenger compartment fuse box, located in the passenger side footwell.
NOTE:Make sure the cover is correctly aligned to the vehicle before refitting.
    1. Pull back the floor mat/carpet to reveal the access panel.
    2. Pull up and remove the access panel to view the fuse box.
  4. Passenger compartment fuse box, located on the left side A pillar, below the facia.
    1. Unclip the access panel to view the fuse box.
  5. Luggage compartment fuse box. The fuse box is accessed by:
NOTE:Refit these parts in the reverse order of removal.
    1. (Coupe vehicles only). Folding back the Luggage compartment floor panel and removing the floor panel support block.
    2. Removing the left side Luggage compartment (battery) cover.
    3. Removing the luggage floor well trim.

thanks so much! I just figured this out..Maan o man so multiple sources say "passenger side" a pillar fuse compartment.. after opening up passenger side door and finding the footwell fuse panel-not the right box. It's the drivers side panel for fuel pump. Wonder if all the right hand drive models are to blame 🤪 calling the left the passenger side..thank you and perfect timing on your response it took me a while to figure all that out sheeeesh

The current AJ-V8 Jaguar engines are numbered using the ISO standard. Bank1 (1, 3, 5 ,7), and Bank2 (2, 4, 6, 8).

See the attached file.

I mentioned in an earlier post both of you have issues with the rear cylinders misfiring. These are farthest away from the throttle body and if there is a leak at the rear gasket that may be an issue. Fuel trim adjustments may also be in play from the adjacent cylinders to compensate.

For the battery issue, can you just disconnect the fuel pump electrical connectors under the car?

Hey folks. Ok so here goes. I thought about this a lot and decided that you all deserve the truth since you've all been so helpful and supportive. I'm eating a ton of humble pie right now and I probably run the risk of getting thrown off the forum for being so stupid but I'm going to be honest. My friend came over today and we tore into it. We got the supercharger lid off and there it was. The (2) towels I used to cover the intake while cleaned up the SC lid and mating surface. Apparently I was completely not paying attention, must have just lost my mind, and left those towels in place while I set the SC lid down and bolted it down and put everything back together. I can't for the life of me imagine how/why I did that. The towels were lodged in such a way that they were blocking some of the intake passages and a small corner jammed in an intake valve. Removed them, checked around, put everything back together and the car runs perfectly fine. I am humbled and embarrassed and thankful that my friend only yelled a little. I'll take my lumps for being stupid and thank you all for the support. Just going through bleeding the coolant which is a little tricky but I think we are getting it. For the longest time the thermostat wouldn't open but we finally started getting heat so I think we are good. Now I'll just monitor that to ensure I have air out of the system and the right level of coolant.

I'm incredibly embarrassed and apologize to all of you for bringing you all into the middle of my stupidity. And I thank you for all of your support and suggestions/guidance.

We all make mistakes. Some are worse than others. I’m happy to hear that this was easily recoverable, and your engine is ok.

Thank you guys for your kind words. I truly can't for the life of me imagine how I could do something so stupid and yes I'm glad as well that I didn't do any damage.. At least not that I'm aware of. Hopefully no towel remnants are trapped anywhere. The towels were essentially intact so we don't think so.

Hi @Trainingdragon ,

Very HAPPY for you that you found it. We all have had these "stories" to tell, just part of the DIY world and a great conversation piece for you now. I've worked on cars since I was 15 and I have a whole library of these. You should be proud that you solved it.

Did you take any pics?? I always photo my mistakes...hahaaa.

All the best!!

Nice work man, all good geez I'd love to pull a rag or two out and be rolling again🤣 sorry I don't mean to make light of the situation but heck yeaaaa you're back that's exciting. I'll still keep you guys posted on what I find about mine.
We get two good vacations/breaks off work a year and that's when I started all this..Sadly today reality kicks in and I'm back to nonstop work.. but I hope to let you guys know in a week or two the outcome of the injectors and IF it resolved my issues.

New forged sf07 wheels arrived and a big brake kit shows that it should arrive next week.. wish I would have attempted starting the car before ordering the wheels and brakes hahaaa, geeez expensive parts for a broken ride-hope all is good soon and can update you all. Here's a pick of the new kitchen decoration wheels and brakes that are on the way 👍
Stance forged sf07 20
Stance forged sf07 20" 255 35 20 front 295 30 20 rear
405mm front rotors, 6 piston.
405mm front rotors, 6 piston. "Jaguar" decals will be put on.
380mm rear rotors, 4 piston caliper

Neat setup. Got a link? Any review of braking performance vs stock setup?

I was very hesitant with ordering the brakes because there weren't a ton of reviews..and so surprising the f type doesn't have more options for brake options but I mainly ordered them for appearance. When they arrive I'll weight them but it sounds like they should be A LOT less weight being 2 piece rotors. I can give you a better overall review once they're on.
The owner-BG randolph was pleasant to talk to on the phone and answered a long list of questions. He has also been great with the updates throughout the stages and process with pictures as the parts are made. Seems legit enough. With the very open new wheels I wanted a better caliper/rotor. I have the same front brakes as the "R" on my S..but the back rotors were smaller..changed those to the R size with new rotors and calipers but still left with wanting more visually appealing brakes...

Makes sense.

I get on some rather spirited Rally's so stopping power is a priority over looks but....one always keeps their eyes open for a decent option that checks most boxes.

Thanks guys for all the good wishes and understanding.

Ksducati nice wheels and brakes. Do you really find that the factory brakes aren't enough? My Type R came with the carbon ceramic setup. Braking is ridiculous but then again I don't track the car and honestly don't drive it hard enough to truly test them. I'm not looking forward to the day I need to change pads but hopefully the rotors last forever.

For me at this point just sorting out the coolant bleed process. It took about an hour of running the car and burping the system to finally get heat out of the vents. Now just need to make sure coolant level is correct as it goes up and down in the reservoir. So question, are you supposed to check the coolant level in the reservoir at operating temp or cold? Meaning the level indicator on the side of the reservoir. I didn't see a note whether to check cold/hot.

I'd guess if this car came with the base brake setup I would have zero issues with their performance and they would be plenty adequate for "spirited driving". I'll occasionally get on it but it likely won't be tracked. My search for different brakes was purely cosmetic with the hopes that when spending big money there's some performance added too. They're supposed to be a ton lighter which should help with bound/rebound and rotational mass.
I just thought the rear calipers were so sad looking on such a sharp car that improving the size of rotors and calipers would really help this cars appearance. Love the looks of the carbon ceramics you have and that 16" front rotor how it fills up the entire 20" wheel so anxious to get these on a WORKING car hahaa geeez, always something. I'll be a week or two but hope to have some good news on the car and will keep you all updated on if the injectors were the cause.

The Owner’s Handbook says to check coolant level while cold.

Hi folks. Just a little update. I've been driving my car on and off for the past few days and I believe it's back to normal. The only thing i'm really noticing is that the coolant level drops a touch in the overflow reservoir, not the point of concern for a leak since I don't see any leaks but it just might be that coolant is slowly making it's way into all the passages. I'm not concerned since it's only minor amounts and will probably stabilize shortly. So I think I'm good and appreciate all the support and guidance. Other than my stupidity, this really wasn't that bad of a job. I do notice that it's a bit quieter in the car with the symposer removed and I think I like it better as the old sound seemed a little overdone. I had no idea sound was pumped into the car.

So all that being said, I ended up with a few parts I won't need and can't return. I have intake gaskets for the V8, a throttle body gasket, and (4) extra clips for the hose that sits under the supercharger. I also have the plug and gasket/crush washer for the engine coolant plug - All new in original packages. If anyone is interested, feel free to DM me.

That said, I'm hoping Ksducati gets his situation sorted out and I'm going to keep monitoring here to see how it's going so hopefully you'll keep posting.
