Default Convertible top- one window stays down...

Hey all...we're still getting used to our '17 vert and are in love after 3 weeks. I did notice that the last few times that the top was raised (windows were completely down while driving) that only the driver side window automatically went up whilst still holding the lever to raise the top. Both the driver AND passenger side went up before...so this seems odd. The window motor is working fine, but I'm forced to pull the window button after the top is raised separately afterwards- when the driver side goes up automatically without such intervention.. Is this some sort of wiring glitch perhaps, or just in need of a battery reset? I did a search and couldn't find any other posts about this. The car is still under full factory warranty, but i'd really rather not have to bring it in. :-/ Thanks for any help you can provide!

There is a reset procedure some where on the forum. I think it is also in the manual.

Reset procedure on the '17: hold the window up switch for 2 seconds and repeat 5 times.

If you ever disconnect the battery you may need to do this, too. Mine always requires it but some get lucky and don't have to.

Yes, the procedure is in the manual. Some have reported that the engine needs to be on for this to work.

On our '14 both side windows stay down after 'erecting' the top. Which is OK with me, because we raise it when the car is parked in the garage as suggested by the owner's manual. (Don't want the fabric to get all wrinkly, like me! )

Doing my best not to wear out the window motors and regulators...

I second the suggestion to do the reset procedure (as if you had disconnected the battery). Better yet, DO disconnect the battery ground lug in the boot, THEN do the window reset! Start 'fresh'.

How can you reset the windows with the battery disconnected?

I KNOW you are teasing me...

Do the windows AFTER re-connecting the battery of course.

On my vert the windows do not go up automatically when the top is raised. Are they supposed to?

Yep. On our '17, as soon as the top was up & latched, both windows would go all the way up too as long as you continued to hold the button for the top. Not sure if it would do it if i released the button, cause I haven't tried that yet!

Get yourself a smartTOP. You can choose to put the windows up or leave them down when using the remote to raise and lower your top. I like it because when I'm out and about I mash the remote to put the top and the windows up when I park. Then when I return home in the garage, I mash the remote to put the top up, but leave the windows down.

Never thought to hold button on my '14, will try it. Not sure any easier than just hitting window buttons.

The SmartTop controller also can make the the up/down button on the console one-touch, so you don’t have to hold it.

And reverse it so it is more intuitive!
