Default CPO '15 340hp 'vert - Check Engine Light

While out running errands today, I noticed the Check Engine Light came on so I took it to the dealer. The scanner reported a leak in the EVAP system. They cleared it and I set an appointment for Monday to have it sorted out. The Check Engine Light did not come on on the ride home. Has anyone had issues with the EVAP system?

I also told the service advisor I've got issues with the filler pump shutting off prematurely when fueling. Apparently, there was a TSB for this which calls for changing out the filler neck. Has anyone had the fueling issue and the neck replaced? Did it help?

I was told both issues would be covered under the CPO Warranty except if the EVAP leak is a hose. In that case, it is not covered and I'd have to pay the diagnostic charge. Are the EVAP hoses visible? Can I check/replace them myself without too much trouble?

Hoses to the EVAP canister have been known to fail. Unfortunately, it's a substantial job to get to and not something you can easily look at. I had the filler neck replaced and it completely eliminated the gas nozzle shutoff issue.

Thanks for your reply.

If my hoses are indeed the culprit, how expensive a job do you think it will be for the dealer to tackle? It may be better to go to an independent.

Good to know the revised filler neck solved your issue.

+1 There is a bulletin and should be covered under warranty.

I took my car into the dealer today and the service advisor has informed me the culprit is a faulty EVAP line that runs above the fuel tank which is not covered under the CPO warranty with the cost to repair it is $650. The car is a lease, is 4-5 months out of the full factory warranty and only has 17K miles on it. Is there any way I can petition Jaguar to repair this under warranty?

The service advisor recommended I contact Jaguar and open a case. Case opened, case number assigned. Let's see what they come back with.

I got a call today from my case manager at JLR stating they were starting the investigation. I told her the dealer contacted me yesterday stating the car would be repaired at zero cost and would be ready for pickup at 10am today. I guess the dealer decided to go ahead and repair it without going through the process with JLR. Good on them!
