Is CPO 6 or 7 years for this car?
I'm looking at a 2014 S V8 Convertible. It was originally sold on 7/31/14 and sold again as CPO on 6/30/16. Which of the CPOs would cover this car - the old 6 years or the new 7 years? I'm assuming it's the old 6 years since the original warranty for the car would have been the old 4 year / 50K, but thought I'd check with the collective brains of the forum.
As a side question, I believe Jaguar CPO follows the car, regardless of who it's sold to / purchased from - is this correct? The car is being sold by a 3rd party dealership.
Thanks,
\ Henrik

The CPO warranty is not added at the end of the original warranty. It starts at the original date the car was first registered. Mine is a 2015 that was CPO this year, so my warranty covers everything until 2021.

it is indeed tied to the car, as are any included maintenance appointments. When I bought my CPO, I inquired about this but was pleasantly surprised. The salesman took me over to a (very cute) service manager and she printed out a sheet with all of those records.
Aslo, the way I understand it, the 6 year CPO warranty (from original date of service) is standard. the 7th year can be purchased.

The CPO warranty can be 1,2 or 3 years whichever you purchase when the car is certified. I opted for the 3 year CPO which gives me a total of 7 years or 100k.
It must be different for each dealer then, as my car was offered as CPO with the 7 years /160000 KM. I made my offer based on that. There was never a discussion of paying less for less warranty.

Thank you everyone for your answers. It seems there are varied experiences out there. If I get closer to pulling the trigger on this one, I'll double check with Jaguar USA to get the authoritative answer
