Default Easiest injector removal method for LODGED injectors.

Here is how i did my injectors. i didn't like the video of the guy using the engine hoist because it pulled the injector straight up from an angular socket and almost broke an injector.

I decided to use a ratchet strap to give a large amount of pull assistance as i used my shoulder to control the exact angle of the strap and the slide hammer to lodge the injector loose.

hope this helps you guys.

Thanks for sharing! That's a good additional approach if the slide hammer alone won't remove them.

Was the injector installation pretty straight forward? I'm curious if utilizing some ant seize on the injector barrels that contacts the head would help in the future.

it was straight forward. just use a skim layer of Vaseline on the Teflon and the o rings so they easily slip into place without being pulled off. dont use spray lube as they will break down seals over time..

Great video - really shows the essence/risk with pulling these things out: corrosion binds them, have to shock them loose, and too much brutality bends/breaks them. The idea on keeping them under mild tension is great too - solid no nonsense content, keep it up.

Uh, did you watch the video? If not I'll summarize for you: these injectors seize in the cylinder heads due to corrosion. Pulling them out at an angle and too violently will bend them, weaking them, and potentially snapping them off, leaving part of the injector stuck in the head. If that happens, you're in for much more expense and time, as you'll have to remove the head and extract the broken injector. Has happened to folks many times, this is a good video showing the correct technique.

Because bending is the first sign of breaking them. And if they get broken in the head of the motor you will need to rebuild the top end of the motor because the heads have to come off. That’s why I was so happy in the beginning.

Only because bending leads to breaking, and breaking leads to major repair.
