They did tell me they can do the 'Arden look' with the fake mesh but I may just wait for an SVR personally. The fake mesh looks a bit cheap for me..

Oh and cost wise it was about $3600 to do the mod last time we discussed it.
I actually like the grill on that, but the leaper on the bumper is always going to look hideous - even if it were fitted without the offset of the one in the picture...

Agreed. The leaper looks gash. Not wild about the red accents either. They look a bit tacky and could be done better in a lighter red.

I am 95% certain that the picture posted was the PROTOTYPE from Arden, and the finished product still has the center "bar" that we all want to get rid of...

Yep... from the Arden website, here is their final product...

Arden Jaguar XF Tuning - F-Type

That's irrelevant. The point I was making was that we can get a bar-less mesh grille made for relatively low cost however its not going to look like the F-Type hex/honeycomb grille, like on the F-Type 7 and what we want to see on the SVR.

Define relatively low cost. Based on the R&D and tooling required to make a part like this, and the fact that the F Type is pretty low in terms of production numbers, I doubt you're going to get anything made cheap. You'd have to find someone willing to make 10-20 units a year for sale.

Some expanded metal and a pair of tin snips is pretty cheap.

Not something i'd ever consider for a high end sports car. Do it right or don't do it at all.

If you read the thread I already mentioned that I was quoted $3,600 for the mesh grille without crossbar mod from Cars Dwaydiak in SF.

Default How much more $$ will the SVR be over the R...

and is that type of premium worth it for a fixed wing, new front fascia, guess around 100 hp and maybe some unique colors? It should be a great vehicle, but it seems like it will really suffer in terms of holding its value (kinda liked overprices AMGs).

All the press rags are calling 600 hp, so only 50.

Heard earlier rumors that it would top $150k. A lot of new competition in that price bracket.

We still don't know all of what is included; could be a lot of lightweight parts and things of that nature. I think its a little too soon to say.

Yeah just over 600 bhp is generally what you can get to on this motor with just ECU tuning. So unless they're making physical changes to the motor, I assume this is where it is going to be as well.

I think it'll be $170K. Think fully loaded R (including CC brakes). That's about $120K. Add to take $50K. Is it worth it? Depends on your bank account. Power won't be the selling point. It's all the carbon fiber aero bits, the suspension tuning, etc. If you look ay something like a AMG SLS and an AMG SLS Black Series, all those CF aero parts make the car look so aggressive, making the SLS look very boring...that's what you're paying for :-)

Not likely to be much more than a tune and hype although getting some part numbers for those lightweight items if they do happen would be cool.

If they had managed to get some 200 lb weight off, and +50hp - then it would have been very interesting.

I very much doubt that though....

Yep, that just seems like too much money for what you would be getting. If I wanted less weight I could keep my base V8 and get a standard edition Alfa 4c for less money than one SVR and had 2 rides. If the price is really going to be in the 150-170K range, there are a slew of sports cars that could be had that will either outperform or match the "look" of a supercar for less or equal money.
