Oh, okay, so to be clear…You ran extra tape the length of the slat like I did? Or you only used the tape that came on the bottom of the slat only?

Just curious.

I ran the tape the entire length of the slat.

The clips we're using are not meant for the F-Type which may be why they are not snug enough when applied over the indentations. The factory splats on the rear of the F-Type are molded onto the body and are clip free. Is it possible that the sheet metal on the XJR is a little thicker than the F-Type around the wheel wells which may be why the clips are not gripping as tight (indentations) as they should?

I tend to think if I didn’t have PPF that is slippery it might have been fine? But clearly you were in a better position to gauge that in not having PPF. It makes some sense for sure, because yeah, there is quite a difference in thickness in and outside of those marked locations.

Well, the good news is the splats are affixed securely to our cars through what ever means necessary. They will provide some protection and I think it gives the front fender a finished look.
