Default H&R V8R owners unite

I'm making the cardinal sin of modding too many things at the same time... Which unfortunately at the moment means that I need to troubleshoot multiple things at the same time...

I had a local installer order and install the H&R lowering springs - 28822-2
They also paired it with a 20mm spacer like so: https://www.ecstuning.com/b-h-and-r-...-pair/4035633/

Obviously they haven't done an F-Type before because the 20mm spacer caused a LOT of rubbing...
So we removed it and had a 15mm spacer installed.
I also had quite a bit of coil noise so they wrapped the coils in a sleeve.

I was sure that the 15mm spacers would be fine. And while it is fine day to day, on high speeds with uneven roads, I am bottoming the rear tyres into the arch again. still scraping...
I'm running 295/30/20 Michelin Sport Cup 2 tyres if that makes a difference.

So.. For those of you that have done the H&R kit with spacers, can you share what has worked for your setup?

I suspect the 295 sport cups might be nearly as wide as the 305 PSS tires which definitely rub with H&Rs/15mm on deep cycle I reverted back to 6mm spacers on the rear ( thickest I felt comfortable with to provide adequate thread engagement). My plan is to address that issue with some custom offsets on a light set of wheels at some point at some point in the future.

Thanks Unhingd

I'm considering changing to 295 PS4's but not sure if they would clear with the 15mm's?

Can I run more camber to get over the problem? How much is too much on the rear?

I'm not sure either, but will be trying that setup as soon as my current 305 PSSs are ready for retirement (currently have 10k miles on them)

i clear with the H&R and 15mm with stock tires. I do rub if i have a passenger and the trunk is full but only on the inner fender liner and nothing that has me concerned. i can't see 305's or anything over the standard 295/30's fitting without rolling the fenders.

I need to take a look to see where mine is rubbing. In theory with the 15mm and stock tires, I should also be touching the fender lining which while not ideal is not too bad.
The issue is I have marks on the Michelins from the rubbing on the 20mm's so I'm now not sure if the marks I am seeing are new or old ones.. :/
suddenly I wish I kept my old Pirelli's to test with...

Mark tyre with wax crayon or possibly chalk, this should get wiped off to indicate if it's still touching

The sound is way worse then the actual small little rub spot on the surface of the inner fender liner. Drove back from Maine with a full trunk and a passenger you would think every time i compressed the rear suspension i was tearing up the fender, but when i got home, tiny little mark on the plastic inner fender, have zero concern now when i hear it rub.

I've decided to remove the spacers for now until I can figure out what the issue is...

Something else that is annoying me is the noise. Is this a common issue with H&R? It almost sounds like the springs are settling in the wheel well when taking down or upslopes like going over speedbumps. Clunk noise...
It settles when I drive the car but I'm not sure if its normal or not...

Mine does it to a certain extent, especially over really harsh speed bumps.

With 15mm spacers and stock tire size no rubbing whatsoever with the H&Rs, even when the springs are compressed down to the bump stops. However, being the V6, I am using a different part number (22882-1), but the V8S should be the same exact spring set. The V8Rs use 22882-2. Not quite certain what this settling is you speak of, but I have no sensation of anything other than a solid and compliant suspension.

Yeah, I have the 22882-2 part on my V8R Coupe. Rubbing on the rear with the 15mm spacers still even with the new PS4s tyres...

What I am experiencing is something like this I think:

I am just trying to diagnose how people go about fixing it since my installer did not...
