Default How much Oil using Drain Hole from Bottom?

Drained the oil out of the bottom of my 17 Ftype S AWD.

I know the fill for AWD is 6.5L and RWD is 7.25L, but I would assume those are only for the extraction method using the pipe to the oil pan.

Anybody know the amount for AWD and RWD when emptying at the bottom via the drain hole?

This has been talked about. Some on here have done both methods to compare and their conclusion was that there like 1 cc oil in the difference in terms of extraction. Basically irrelevant, because there will always be some remaining in the nucs and crannies.

That said, cannot imagine why anyone would want to bother from the bottom when the top method is so dead easy and equivalent.

Yep, same amount either way.

I just changed my oil last week using the lovely extraction method and got about 6.2L out. More than enough for a maintenance oil change.

6.2 litres is about a litre short, either you started with it underfilled by a litre or your extraction pump did not do a good job.

The max capacity is 6.9L. I measured using the slightly ambiguous electronic gauge prior to draining the oil and I presumed the dealership probably put about 6.5L in - as they conducted the last oil change. I’m not losing any sleep over potentially .3 - .5L left in there.

Yep, my bad, I forgot that yours is AWD so 6.5 litres refill not 7.25 litres.
