Default lost keys to 2014 F-Type how do I get into the trunk

I am unable to find keys to my 2014 jag f-type. Had USAA open but valet mode enabled and we can't get into trunk where we think the extra keys are. Is there a way to get into trunk? With valet mode enabled we can't move the seats, open the dash, or get into the console.

keys wont be in the trunk as car wont allow you to lock them in there unless key battery is flat. Is there a reason you dont have the pin code for valet mode?

I think he means USAA opened the car, but couldn't get the trunk open because of valet mode being active.

Default What body style?

Do you have a coupe? a convertible? There should be a luminescent pull handle on the interior side of the exterior license plate mount. If you have a coupe with the 'hatch cover', you may have to work with it to get to the pull handle with a hook or something like that.

Then found this online for a 2014 F

"Jaguar if the car battery has died.

Remove the emergency metal key from the key fob.
Insert the metal in the key tumbler right next to the license plate light.
Turn the key.
Press the trunk release and lift up the trunk."
Either one of these will work to get your truck open. I hope this helps with your issue. Thank you"

I don't usually think this way, but re-reading the OP with the idea that someone is trying to make off with the car starts to make sense.

Yes Valerie and if there is a way to unlock valet mode without the code then I hope nobody posts it on here.

I'll say that someone here was in a somewhat similar predicament a few years ago - convertible, disconnected the bus bar in the trunk (I think), then accidentally closed the trunk. Couldn't be powered from the front jump points as the bus bar and/or battery was disconnected. I believe he found a place either under the hook or in one the fuse boxes to inject power. Unclear to me if he powered the release directly; if not, the valet mode would still block it from opening.

Valerie, our cars don't have a keyhole for the trunk.

Dunno where you got that from Valerie but it can't work for an F-Type. XF yes, XJ/F-Pace maybe but definitely not F-Type as it doesn't have any such emergency key slot under or near the rear licence plate. On the F-Type the only emergency key slot is under one of the door handles.
I seem to recall that on a coupe at least there is a way to access that emergency trunk release handle by poking something through from behind the front seats, after opening the door(s) using the emergency key in the lock under the door handle.

Correct! This is VERY bad advice. If you don't know the answer PLEASE don't post things!
This also will NOT work on the XJ as that car does not have an external emergency key slot either.

This is listed in the owners manual so take a look and see if you model of car DOES have an external key slot.
Sure would have prevented some expensive problems IF Jaguar had installed an external key slot on the F-Type/XJ.
They did not and I don't think we have ever had anything from Jaguar on why not? They must have had a reason? Maybe added security to keep thieves out of the car?

To be fair, that same advice (use the key for the trunk) has been posted before; I suspect there’s some flaky documentation floating around the Internet - what a surprise.

I just find it interesting the OP asked a question (the only question he/she posted on these forums) about getting into a Jaguar without a key and then vanished after a slew of responses. Not shady at all...

Probably Ferris Bueller looking to take his dad’s new ride out for a spin. We should probably let him know that his dad has an incontrol app that can track the vehicle.

Hopefully no one will tell him that a MY14 doesn't have Incontrol.

I seem to remember it being something on the XK.

My 97 XK8 had a keyhole hidden in the 8. I’ve not heard of such a thing on the F type though.

Actually the hole was between the X and the K. Or it was on mine, anyway. The later models (x150) had the keyhole behind the number plate, if I remember correctly, so the plate had to come off, which was a retrograde step, IMO. Though not as retrograde as the F-Type, of course!

Fair enough, thanks for the correction.
