Question Michelin Pilot Sport 4S? Recommendations?

Hello friends, I've had PZero for 11k now. I've liked them. Grip seems very good. Wet grip was better than I expected. Braking does have a few hops to it at times.

During the 11k....Had the Front Driver side Replaced (Double Nail) and the Rear Driver side Patched (single nail). Also just had a Massive Bolt dead center of the Tread in the Rear Driver side again. Thankfully was able to drive 10 miles safely home with 0 psi.

Have decided to replace all 4 with the Michelin's. Would Love to hear anyone's experience with Michelin Pilot Sport 4S.

There's a whole thread on the P4S.

TL;DR?

Just get them.

If you poke though the forum, you'll find lots of owners have moved from the PZero's to Michelin - probably a majority. Initially the move was to the PSS, but now the 4S since it's introduction. Personally, I'm still on PSS from before the 4S introduction. The 4S's are reported as having a bit quieter and smoother ride. Lots of folks have used Tire Rack, although I got mine through Costco. The rear tires didn't automatically show in configurator, but they could get them - even when supply was tight due to a Michelin manufacturing change. Also, they had new, proper equipment for the larger tires and the guys in the shop knew what they were doing. Good luck!

If you liked the PZeros, you'll just wonder at the MP4Ss.

Iv also been on a mission to "finish" my 2nd set of P-zero's and i must say i hated them at first, but now i know how to heat them up and know how they react in most conditions after driving them from MA (17 degrees when i left) to Key West (85 when i arrived). Not that i can compare them to the 4S's (haven't swapped yet) but i will say i can get the P-zero's to hook pretty good even with my RWD V8, can't wait to get the 4S's on and see what all the hype is about.

This seems to be the opinion of the majority of F Type owners who have commented from personal experience on the thread referred to.

It matches my experience also.

The hype is real. After 2 sets of PZeros and 28k miles total (yes only 14k per set) on the two sets I finally shifted to the P4s. Noticed the difference immediately and became more and more impressed every mile so far. After 3k on the P4s I've yet to really find their breaking point. I've tried as much as I dare on public roads. Can't wait to really play with them in proper locations.

Should be mandatory on RWD cars. The V8S and RWD R are downright dangerous on P Zeros.

They are the best street-tires money can buy. It's the first modification I'd do to any car which didn't come with them from the factory.

Drive gently under those circumstances. Traction will still be better than with the PZeros in those temperatures.
