Nice find!! According to eaton the "air leakage ports" can be blocked:

"Closing these ports will not increase IAT's; however, it will make the supercharger much louder when in boost. "

It's a good read... I hope someone attempts this mod!

It looks like the above place will do the engine cover for $175.00.

Definitely tempted.

HYDROGRAPHICS PRICING

This is what the member here that has the windowed custom hood needs!

My guess is the above pic is the Metal/Carbon 6/6 pic treatment.

Any additional info appreciated. That should have its own thread.

A local shop does hydrogrphics and its not even expensive. They did my FRS interior plastics in faux carbon fiber .

Any more info on the metal intake tubes for the V8s?

I had a similar mod done to my Eaton SC in my Ford Lightning. It was crazy loud - absolutely LOVED it.

A loud exhaust, even one as glorious as the F-type S/R, won't get reactions like a screaming loud SC.

I was with a hot bimbo in the L circa 2007 and she made an observation. "Pull over something is very wrong with your truck!."

I assume the S/C needs to come apart? Have only just started to wonder what is involved. How involved is this I wonder...

I think we already don't have the "air leakage ports" they are talking about. At least not in the same place:

Yep, that web page about closing the ports is for the M series Eaton SC, and the F-Type runs the later TVS R series which is quite different.

Outlet port of the TVS does not have those two slots in it.

This is the R1900 off the 5.0L, presumably the R1320 off the 3.0L is similar.

Yep, no holes in the TVS units. That's because the bypass was integrated into the compressor housing versus being remote(M units have, TVS units don't), it allows the manufacture to toggle the bypass and avoid sound if desired. But the addition of the plastic intake tube and silencer cambers also aid in reducing the charger noise. I've played with the bypass valve to help net more noise but with the plastic tube still fitted, doesn't increase a whole lot.

That looks great. Love to see it on the F-Type.

Having owned an '02 Lightning, an '07 GT500, an '02 SLK55, and even an '02 Mini Cooper S, I have to say the F-Type V6S is almost silent in comparison to all of them. In a way that is awesome, because it indicates the higher efficiency of the TVS supercharger over the old school Eatons.

But not hearing the supercharger at full charge makes me sad. And I haven't noticed a big difference even after the pulley and tune, unfortunately.

It is probably too juvenile for most here, but I really miss the blower whine of my 2001 Ford Lightning.

Damn that was a fun vehicle to drive. No nannies, just raw power to two wheels on demand. How I never got a ticket going through multiple sets of rear tires is nothing short of a miracle.

Unfortunately since American buyers insist on 4-door pickups for their brood and safety, the L went the way of the dinosaurs. Now people get $75k Raptor F150s where 95% of them never touch dirt.

Yep, I had changed the pulley on my '02 S and it made glorious noises. Was glad I had added the torsen diff after that change.
