Default P2187 and Coolant leak?

Hello fine folks. This morning I started up my 2016 F Type (83K km mileage) and heard/saw sounds and sights of horror (to me). These were my observations:

- Check engine light lit up
- White smoke billowing from exhaust and only got thicker as time passed
- Engine sound increasing loudly to the point of scaring me so I turned it off
- OBD2 code P2187 (lean fuel mixture)
- Orange fluid (coolant?) on one side of transmission assembly (see below first picture and this google drive video: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1A4f...ew?usp=sharing )

Last week I got the car back from the mechanic after a number of cooling system parts were replaced including the Y pipes (changed from the original plastic to metal) (see second pic below). The car has not been driven much since returning.

I would appreciate it if anyone could share thoughts on what might have caused this. Part of me thinks the mechanic screwed up somewhere but maybe not. The whole point of having it worked on was to hopefully prevent any coolant related issues in the future but alas, disaster has struck, which is quite disappointing.

Fuel injector blown? Coolant pipe likely.

Really hoping it isn't the fuel injector. Do you have any idea of what would be a reasonable quote for that replacement?

Can you confirm you have orange cooling fluid? Oil is also a possibility.
white smoke indicates coolant or fuel (stuck injector). The orange can be just an old spill.

I used indy for repair, $1200 in labor. I bought parts on Rock Auto, Bosch OEM. 3 injectors and set of plugs each time about 10 months apart. Could have bought only 3 plugs the second time but they were the least expensive factor.

Additionally, injectors can be hard to remove even with specialized tool!

The BOSCH OEM "non-jag" injectors. Do they look like and work exactly like the jag version? was thinking of getting some for my next project but concerned they will not be of same quality.

indeed even with tool they can break. I know on my XE S when they went to do chains - 4 of the 6 broke.

Beware counterfeit injectors. I have no personal experience, just what I’ve read here.

Rock Auto is as reliable as they get. Had JLR part number along side Bosch! Exact as dealer only 2/3 cheaper.
