I think breaking in a new engine, the general idea is old hat these days.
Oil / lubricants and general technology has come such a long way, and most engines are run in, so to speak on the bench.
Be sure to get that all important first oil change at 1500 miles though, would be my suggestion.

Believe in the idea that the first few break-in miles are the most critical in promoting optimum ring seal, modern engine manufacturing and factory break-in notwithstanding. (See link in Post #6 above). Stayed with the Owner's Handbook procedure, but used Sport Mode to grab revs quickly and stay longer in the lower gears. Also changed out the oil by 1500 miles.

Changed the oil myself (do so every 5K). In this case, I save the complimentary service for later.

Break-in Instructions From Manual
This is the verbatim break-in instructions that came in the manual of my 2015 F Type Coupe.
My dealer advised there was no break-in period, so I rode my hard for the first 40 miles until seeing this. Just to be prudent, I took it easy for 1k miles, despite the advice in the manual suggesting 2k. That said, I know there's many schools of thought on break-in
During this Running-in period of 3,000 km
(2,000 miles) you should:
• Avoid frequent cold starts followed by
short-distance driving.
• Preferably take longer trips.
• Do not use full throttle during starts and
normal driving.
• Avoid continuous operation at high engine
speed and abrupt stops.
• Do not participate in track days, sports
driving schools or similar.
In addition specifically up to 2,000 km (1,200
miles):
• Drive at varying engine and road speeds,
but do not exceed an engine speed of 4500
rpm (revolutions per minute) and a road
speed of 170 km/h (105 mph).
From 2,000 km (1,200 miles) to 3,000 km
(2,000 miles):
• Engine and road speeds can be increased
gradually.
• Engine speeds in excess of 5000rpm
should only be used briefly e.g. when
overtaking.
