Default Searching for better price on this style hood vent

Hi all – TGIF. I wonder if you can shed some light on a supplier for the hood vents I am seeking. Referring to the graphic below – I am seeking the style in pic 1 at a lower cost. Adamesh has them for ~ $500 USD – too much for me. I then found them at Terry’s Jag for $160/set, so I jumped. However, what was delivered can be seen in pic 2. The folks at Terry’s were very nice and accepted my return and refunded my money. However, they could not explain the difference between their website picture and what I received. I thought it might be the way they photographed the vents, but other web pics show this style with the thin chrome strip on the peak.

So I am back to the only option being Adamesh – unless someone knows of a different source. If anyone definitely knows the part number or a vendor for the style in pic 1, please let me know. Many thanks in advance.

Given the number of years and variations on hood vents, I would not rely on photos. I would go by part number. Are they the same part number? What is the part number for photo number one?

$600 is insane for two pieces of plastic. Even at $150. However, you could get the fully chrome ones and have a good body shop mask and paint the chrome on the cheap.

I'm not aware of any that have a "chrome stripe" on them. That's likely something you'd have to do yourself by getting a set in black and then seeing if a paint shop can add that for you. As far as an inexpensive option:

Dunno if they are specific to the RWD or the AWD so maybe, maybe not.
Coz the RWD and AWD hood vents are different - different placement, different shape and different size - and they are most definitely not interchangeable.

If you go to that Harper site, there is a button to check if it fits your car.

Thanks to everyone for the replies, I appreciate it. I'll dig into those part numbers. But it looks like my best option would be to modify the ones that have the chrome slanted side (pic 2) into the one with just the strip (pic 1). I know it's a minor thing to some but of all the vents I've seen it's the only one I prefer over stock. My guess is that style #1 existed in the early MYs and then although discontinued, the pictures remained up on some vendor sites, like Terrys. I'll report back what I learn. Thanks for all the help.

That picture #1 is all chrome as you received. It's just the way the photo was taken makes it seem darker.

Yep, I did hypothesize that in my OP, but the Adamesh and other pics on the web seem to indicate it is a different style. I will continue the hunt for clarification.
