The supercharger in the 3.0L V6 F type S is an Eaton TVS 1320 ( the V8 version is the TVS 1900).
The super charger coupler (also called isolator) is the join between the input shaft (driven by the belt) and the turbine. It is a spring loaded coupling designed to operate more quietly than a solid coupler. Unfortunately the spring often fails (and possibly some were installed backwards) resulting in a loud rattling from the snout of the supercharger. Replacing it is pretty easy with the supercharger out of the vehicle and I would think very difficult but not impossible with the SC in the vehicle.
Most people replace it with the Eaton SOLID coupler (not the failure prone spring version). The part number is EAT 361506
To remove the supercharger see my write up on the topic here
To remove the snout of the supercharger the 7 bolts shown need to be removed. However don’t expect it to simply lift off! There are two locating dowels and also a layer of gasket sealant to contend with. HOWEVER I do not recommend any beating etc as others have. The snout is designed to be levered off. I used a thick bar inserted into the levering tab on the underside of the housing as shown and it comes off easily.
All the gasket sealant is carefully removed with a razor blade and the surfaces dressed with some scotchbrite in anticipation of reassembly.
The old spring loaded coupler is removed and the surfaces cleaned and regreased lightly. The new couple is applied. Then a 1mm bead of silicone sealant is applied as shown and the snout replaced and bolts torqued to 27Nm. If, like me, you find it very hard to get a neat 1mm bead be sure to wipe away the excess sealant inside the join while still soft.
At the back of the unit is the oil fill plug (sorry- blurry photo red circle). Eaton supercharger oil can be obtained and the fill volume is 150ml. I tipped mine upside down and only got out about 85ml of very dirty oil. I’m unsure why there was so little but can only assume that replacing it with the correct volume of fresh oil is a good thing.
Thank you so much for the detailed repair instructions!
Now my tubes are leaking and I had to remove the supercharger. I bought the isolator from my local store, however I doubt that the hard isolator can damage the bearings and gears of the supercharger over time. My isolator is slightly different and is made of graphite-filled nylon. How long did you drive after the renovation? Are there any problems?
Good post , but seen similar on other jaguar models like the xkr and f type 5litre , i also done a post\thread on how to change the supercharged oil on the f type v6s whilst all still in place . george https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/f...pe-v6s-248607/

Depends on the year, I ordered the 5.0 litre version and it didn't fit. The supercharger shop I worked with informed me that sometime in the MY16 they switched so that both the V8 and the V6 used the same coupler. And as luck would have it, the one they switched to was the more expensive of the two parts.

Ugh, I ran into the same issue. My 2014 V8 S had its supercharger replaced under warranty in 2017 after a coupler failure, and I thought it would be about time to replace the OEM torsion spring coupler with a solid one to avoid future headaches. However, the 5.0L aftermarket coupler (47mm green nylon) I bought before popping open the supercharger snout doesn't fit. The OEM coupler I pulled out has a 49mm diameter and is ~25mm thick. Can you confirm that the Eaton EAT-361506 coupler that folks above use on the V6 supercharger also fits your V8?
Edit: I talked to a supercharger shop about this, and EAT-361506 is the correct solid coupler for the newer V8 superchargers as well. However, they pointed out to me that the change occurred sometime during the 2015 model year, which means you'll have to remove the supercharger snout and check if you have a V8 from around that time. And also if you have an older F-Type that had its supercharger replaced at some point, of course.
So I came across this supercharger coupler repair. And it was very detailed. I have a 2014 V6 Jaguar F-Type and I need a coupler / isolator replacement. The problem is I cannot find anyone to perform this service. I don't trust my own skill level and I am looking for somebody. I live in Georgia about 30 minutes outside of Atlanta. Does anybody know of anyone who can help me with this job or do this job. I'd much rather have a local guy versus a big shop for this job. I feel like the big shops always want to make things overly complicated. Can anybody refer somebody to me?
