Default What is this scratch from on my car? (pics)

So the other day I noticed this scratch on the drivers side rear wheel. I'm not sure if a rock could have done this?? I try to never park next to anyone in parking lots but still have to sometimes obviously. Could it be from a door? Or key? I'm hoping when I get it detailed some of it can comes out or something. Hopefully the attachments came through ok.

I'm sure a little Meguiars ScratchX will take that out, probably no need for a detailer, certainly worth a go.
Even if it' right through it'll certainly minimise it massively.

Hope to hear

That's not from a rock. Looks like it could be a key held low by someone walking by or a shopping cart? I have one similar but not as deep.

I was going to guess: shopping cart. people get crazy reckless with those things. However, shopping cart damage is usually linear in nature, and the OP's scratch appears to have a little swerve to it.

My experience is there's so much out there - you name it, it's out there - which can and does "harm" our beautiful cars. Some are avoidable alas many are not. Many are just unforeseen.

Should come out completely or greatly improved with some scratch remover.

You drive your car, s#%^'s gonna happen; and I accept that fact.

(Why lazy sons of bitches can't put their shopping carts away - and why if I am parking in any lot I park as far away, from others, as possible and when possible - I don't know).

Good luck and happy, scratch-free, motoring.

You might want to try Turtle Wax Scratch Removal Kit. My car got keyed a while back. After and before pics.

For some reason this made me think of this clip from the Heavy Metal movie:

About 3 minutes 12 seconds in. He captures the essence of what should be done to anyone who keys a car.
