Hi, what a great forum, I just found it looking for info on Jaguar parts. I bought a Shelby Cobra replica and it came with some very nice Jag hub and brake assemblies, as well as a spare Jag rear. I didn't hang the rear picture here but will later, the brake assemblies just seem too nice and the Cobra does not use this setup
I think 1996 XJ6 maybe? Can anyone help? They are far too nice to not do something with and look to be brand new assemblies.
Well, the rotors atleast are from a 2001 Jaguar XJS. So, I would have to assume that the rest of the assembly is from the same vehicle. I am not familiar with that style of car. I only figured out what vehicle it is based on the part number on the disc (MJA2693AA/C). Hope that helps atleast get you going in the right direction.

clubairth, when I did my looking, I ran across something that showed the rotor and the part number and it said it applied to 2001 XJS. Maybe it should have said XJs.
As an update, the Cobra guys said that it was a standard Jag outboard brake hubs from 94-96 XJS cars. Apparently, ERA, the manufacturer of the Cobnra kit I have, offered outboard brake kits as well as standard inboard brakes.
Although the rotor part numbers don't seem to match, the other parts do, so my guys is the last owner planned to do the outboard swap.
Apparently there isn't a big performance gain as pictured, but allows more upgrades later.
I may flip them, they don't eat much, but I do not plan big changes on the Cobra
The Cobra is a new addition, knew the prior owner who passed and his kids asked me to buy versus putting it out for retail. Neat car, raced most of its life. Had a 496 inch solid roller engine that was broken. I am building a more streetable 454 inch 427 at about 500 HP.. We had to push it to the trailer. It's neat though, very period correct and all those stickers are actually removable vinyl.
Bullocks, I would ponder the outboard braking system as it is going to be much easier to work on if you have to replace any parts (pads, rotors). Sure, there is a slight loss in performance because you now have more suspended weight at the wheels, but I think that is going to be minimal for what you have planned for the car.
Great looking car and a great color combo too! That a Factory Five? Helped a friend build and paint one a number of years ago. A low end version with a stock FI 302 so nothing like yours!
I painted both of these cars about 30 years ago. If you look the FB Mustang has no glass or dash board as it was still being built at that time and was not finished.
It's a scan of a photo and it's a bit blurry compared to the modern digital pictures.

Nice cars, very clean. Mine is an ERA. My other toys are a 70 Mustang, 489 inch SEFI 427, TKO600, air conditioned, 5 speed and 4.11s, soon to be a 511 inch engine but on the fence of adding a centrifugal supercharger. I also have a 71 F100 bought new by my grandfather and I have owned since 1984. It's now powered by a 461 inch 428 with Edelbrock port fuel injection.
