Default Thank you from long ago RESOLVED

I find people reguarly pressing the 'thank you' button for posts I have made months or even years ago.

It would be really nice to follow up with them sometimes, but the only way to find them that I can see is to manually go through all thanked posts until you find a recent thank you on an old post.

Is there a better way?

Thanks for the suggestion WhiteXKR and yes, it totally makes sense.

I know from other sites I use that employ the same system and have this feature.

When logging in to the site a notification drop box appears and shows all posts that have been thanked / liked since your last visit. It then gives the option to go to that post and see who you were thanked by and why.

I'm assuming its this feature you are thinking of?

I will do my best to see if I can get that initiated here asap.

It is a it cumbersome but if you go to your profile page and select the statistics tab and look at the total thanks section, you can then click on "find all thanked posts by username" and it will show the list of posts that have been thanked chronologically.

Yes and no.

It is chronological, but it is in the order of the date of the post, not the date of the thank you. The result is a thank you on an old post can be way, way down on the list.

Lol...thanks for the input Norri, but we'll try our best to get this implimented if possible the way I discussed, if it's doable.

It will be a good feature to have for sure.

One thing's for sure, it won't be one from me, I'm totally and utterly 100% useless when it comes to remembering that we have a Thanks button.

As my just received weekly boll*#¤ing from Jim will attest to.

But yeh good point 'White' and certainly a useful addition.

And as you say, nice to follow-up.

Hey there, word from IB as follows

I thought the product was a new version with the added feature but it was outdated and will not work with the product installed on Jaguar. We found another one that should work and the team will look into it in the next day or so to make sure it won’t break anything.

We need to be careful or we could lose all the info gathered to date

Ok guys, with a whole lot of work and help from the guys at IB ( Thanks....lol ) here is the "Thanks" history add on as requested.......

Please see below.....

On either logging in or just browsing the forum, you will receive a notification, as if you were being advised of a pm having been received.....see below.

Size: 4.9 KB

clicking on the notifications will then show as follows ........

Size: 20.2 KB

Now click on new "Thanks" on your posts, and you will see this screen.....

Size: 160.2 KB

From there its all pretty self explanatory

Thanks

Well Steve, you could have actually used the "Thanks" button as that was the whole idea .......pmsl

Seriously though, the guys at IB really came through with this one, definitely a useful feature.

I'm going to re create this in ts own thread for people as it will otherwise no doubt get lost

What exactly does that mean Jim? "lose all the info gathered" ??? Sounds serious!

Cameron, its ok......

The above relates to the following.

We may have had to install a completely different "Thanks" plugin to get the features asked for. If this was the case we may have lost all thanks currently on the system, Thanksfully this sin't the case as you can see.
