electrical connection mk2 3,4 with dg 250 automa
You need to get hold of a wiring diagram for the car, you may be able to download one from the internet but if not then get a Haynes manual from e-bay/amazon which will show you this.
The two solenoid on the DG250 are actually one solenoid and one pressure switch.
The solenoid (the long thin unit bolted on) operates the intermediate speed hold, effectivly this locks the transmission in second when you operate the switch on the dash.
The other unit (round screwed in switch) measures the pressure when the car is stationary and in conjunction with a switch on the carb/throttle linkage operates the anticreep solenoid which holds the rear brakes on when you stop and prevents the car creeping forward.

Here is the wiring diagram for a MK2, the auto box wiring is shown on the right hand side half way down the page.
S Type wiring diagram also if it helps as per Jose's post

does the dash have a SPEED HOLD switch? if yes, one of the solenoids is the SPEED HOLD SOLENOID. The other solenoid could be the ANTI-CREEP device, not sure about that last one.
so you could check the S type's wiring diagram since it came with the DG250 tranny.
