Welcome PP3poplar3,

What problems are you encountering ?

Glass size / shape, rubbers, chrome or all the above ?

Picture really help too.

I had exactly this issue...there was no way my experience glass man could get it to lie properly...the contours were wrong. In the end we refitted my original (easily) and still good but not perfect screen.

I believe that if you contact Pilkington, they will get you to take a series of measurements as to where it is dimensionally inaccurate and then make you another one. There was a series of articles in Jaguar World about having three attempts to get one to fit an E-type and they detailed that process.

I have recently fitted a new Pilkingtons Triplex screen to my S Type (same screen as Mk2). It's dimensions/shape were identical to the original.

The problems we had related to rubbers. There is a lot of ill fitting junk out there. We went through 3 sets to find a good fit.

You must find rubbers with correctly moulded corners otherwise they pucker.

The rubber should appear too large otherwise they pull up in the lower corners.

The screen should appear a little loose in the aperture prior to inserting the expander strip.

You must seat the bottom corners first or you will have trouble.

Seal glass & body side before inserting expander.
