03 x-type cruise control not available gearbox fault
03 x-type is literally giving me a breakdown I'm not mechanically inclined please can somebody help me my car for some reason does not want to go into 2 3 and 4 the shifter and it is an automatic oldies codes are coming up and I literally do not know what to do

Welcome to the Forums.
Many things, and a couple are:
Battery, old, not holding a charge, and since these cars are juice hungry, and a battery issue will reek havoc with the electrics, and the trans is electrically controlled.
Trans fluid is OLD, needs changing.
