Default 2011 Jaguar SC New to Me

Just picked up a Beautiful Jag XJL SC with the sport effects, carbon fiber interior, and illumination. Its Black on Black, and I love it. I bought it from Indiana sight unseen from a wholesale dealer cheap. 63,000 miles. the good news is that it looks almost brand new inside and out. The bad news, it was wholesaled out because of a very bad intermittent rough idle, with clicking noise, and misfire. Also brakes are shot, sunroof bad, roof popping like crazy, and some speaker issues that cause the woofers to sound blown for days at a time, only to sound perfect the next. Also some front suspension bushings, and odd suspension noises, etc. Amazing a car that was Grandma-Driven according to my mechanic, has so Many issues at 60k, but damn it looks good. lol

SO this will be a project car, and I look forward to getting it all sorted. Right now it was diagnosed with a timing issue causing the rough idle. so my mechanic is replacing timing chain, gears, seals, solenoids, tensioners, and guides. A pretty expensive trip, and I am hoping it fixes the first and most major issue.

Anyway,
I will be updating progress, and trying to relay as much information as I can, and thanks to everyone here for positing so much useful information. I was able to find fixes for pretty much every issue I have found.

Chris

Hello, Chris,
Your car sounds like it was abused by its former owner. If not outright abused, it certainly wasn't properly cared for in any sense of the word. Poor thing.

If you got it for little enough money you can spend some love on it and have a Really nice car when you're finished.

Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.

Thanks elinor, the odd this is that the service history on carfax is spot on, never missed a service or a checkup at the dealer, but the last service was at 54'000 so I think the company that owned it just didn't service it the whole last year they owned it as the knew they were trading it in. Hopefully I get it all sorted. It really is jn impeccable condition. There's a little wear in the rear passenger side seat and tray and the front seat looks like it was never sat in, so I'm assuming it was used like a limo-taxi.
