Default it is called here a green monster

First beautiful weekend in Pa, it was time to take XK8 -which I own for more than a year - out with a top down. After pushing a top button nothing happened but within seconds I and mu daughter on the passenger seat were splashed with a green hydraulic fluid. I learned a hard way the intricacies of british engineering. Looking for a help I found this forum and the pressure lines failure is well documented and covered. The Jag is sitting in the front of my house - I do not have garage - top manually latched, but quarter windows still down. I am waiting till this probation period is over to ask some technical questions.

So sorry to hear about your hydraulic failure, if only you'd gotten over here sooner, and picked up the pressure reducing valve kit from our crafty/entrepreneur - Gus, it may have lasted alot longer. Nonetheless, we need to get you fixed up now.

Come on over to the XK8/R section, post some questions in the existing threads, and you'll be able to view/download everything you need in no time.

There still are some links in the XK8/R FAQ sticky thread that you can access in the meantime, and there's plenty of information there to get you started on fixing the latch/hoses.

Wish you luck!

Gentlemen, thanks for the encouragement.
Thus far. I need to find a fuse and relay layout, the get the quarter windows up and tomorrow I have to find and call a dealer for those pressure hoses. The closest dealer is about 50 miles afar.
