I blow the engine in my 2000 Jaguar S-Type 3L . If I buy the engine what is a range for how much a a shop should charge me to install it.

Probably more than the car is worth. I don't know about prices over in California but over here in the UK an average 3.0 is worth about £1000-£1500 and I can't see you getting a good engine fitted for much less than that.

Your first problem is going to be finding the right engine.

Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.
