Default Good Morning from the Midlands

Good Morning All,

I've just bravely picked up a 2001 S-Type 3.0L V6. It's a bit of risk, but from what I can gather the only issues are the gearbox selector / cable (Which was actually driving absolutely fine until a friend tried to force the selector)

I've never driven or owned a Jaguar before, so I figured what the hell. Gorgeous car to drive - not as quick as I expected, but it's a very very pleasant place to be and I was astounded at it's general condition. From looking at the price of parts, I've definitely got a solid fallback in breaking it if it turns out to have underlying issues.

I'll drop some pics up later on

Hello, Herman,
I worked with some real Gear Jammers for a short while (truck drivers), in fact my first summer job after high school was driving gravel truck off a crusher in a pit. Those guys were Hard on equipment! I'm sorry to read one of them has broken your cat. However, you seem to have the situation will in hand. I think I made a good decision to not allow anyone else to drive my Nix.

Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.

Welcome to the forum.
Mine is a free for all to drive how they like. If its going to break, it should do it the way I drive it. If it breaks when someone else is at the wheel, it was going to happen anyway.

Thanks all, appreciate the warm welcome.

What I'm loving about the Jaguar is that every person who has come to see it has made a Grandad joke, had a drive in it and declared that they're off to look for one. I feel like I may have been converted.
